A freak exercising accident!

Posted by madbunny on Thu, 10/30/2008 - 17:51

Well, maybe it wasn't so freak, just plain stupid. I have a total gym 1000, somewhat like the kind Chuck Norris is always hocking on TV, but a bit older version. I went to use it this morning to get some exercise after having been out of the fitness game for a few months.
I failed to completely screw down the pin that locks the inclined bar to the vertical post. It seemed to hold with my weight, but once I pulled on the handles to slide myself forward, it gave up.

Rusty Skills

Posted by madbunny on Wed, 10/29/2008 - 18:01

Well, I managed to finally get out and fly. My currency had expired so I needed to do some dual with a flight instructor (and still need more).
We did some slow flight, some stalls and steep turns and though I was rusty, the rust was coming off fairly fast.

WebCAM fixed

Well, I guess the old reinstalling of windows XP did the trick.
The bunny cams seems to be working a-OK now. It's really bizarre how it only affected ftp-ing of files and everything else seemed to be working okay.

Nanowrimo 2008

Posted by madbunny on Fri, 10/24/2008 - 11:52

Wow, 2 blog posts in one day!

I know I said last year that I was going to do Nanowrimo (http://nanowrimo.org) and nothing really came of it.
This year I'm signed up and even have a plot outline and have started developing some characters. I hope to really work on the character development this weekend and do a rough outline of the book so that I can start gung ho into the actual writing next weekend...wow, is November here already???

Anyways, it's kind of a dark book, but here's my plot synopsis..almost like a back of the dust jacket blurb:

Immortal Cycle: Rogue Child

Weird Webcam Issues

Posted by madbunny on Fri, 10/24/2008 - 11:48

Howdy,

Not like there's really a lot of people chomping at the bit, watching the varmints on the webcams or reading this blog even, but I thought I'd mention there's some really weird issues I have with my webcam.
It seems to have started either right after some power outages or right after Microsoft's latest emergency patch. I don't know that it's related to the emergency patch, but it may just be an odd coincidence.

General Update Fall 08

Posted by madbunny on Thu, 09/18/2008 - 08:32

Seemed like a while since I wrote an entry here. It doesn't feel like a whole lot is going on. I've been working a lot lately and taking care of the bunnies as usual. Been getting right around 50MPG with the 'ol Smart car. :) My original reservation never got canceled when I bought the orphan so I have another one on order if for no other reason than to get the Seattle dealer more cars. Ethan and Co. are all nice peeps at Smart Center Seattle. I may decide I have enough margin that I can pick up another Smart and then I may do the Smartuki or Hayabusa conversion to it.

PAX 2008

Posted by madbunny on Tue, 09/02/2008 - 07:14

Just got back from Seattle yesterday. Went over there for a friends wedding, to get my Smart car serviced, and to check out the Penny Arcade Expo.
PAX is now the largest gaming convention in North America. In 2007, there were 37,000 attendees and this year the Washington State Convention center in downtown Seattle felt very crowded. I understand they added at least 20% more space over last year and doubled the Exhibition hall space.

Miss him already...

Posted by madbunny on Wed, 08/13/2008 - 08:01

Well, I took Ephrum to the vet yesterday to get a health certificate so he could fly. Everything went well, but I don't think he enjoyed the car ride much.
This morning, Sara's mom came by and picked up the little fluffy rascal :)
I'm not sure Butter and Mocha feel the same way, but I already miss Ephrum.

Crazy little bunny

Posted by madbunny on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 06:00

So I let Ephraim out and take care of his cage yesterday morning. It was right before I headed upstairs for a shower. Five or ten minutes later I come down to feed him and be on my way to Spokane for the morning and he's nowhere to be found. I heard a little shuffle when I first came down and after searching for him for a minute or so, I heard another one from the kitchen.

Ephraim's first week

Posted by madbunny on Mon, 06/30/2008 - 06:04

Well, it's been one week already of Ephraim's stay here and I think he's settling in nicely. I put some barriers up so that he can't hide under the kitchen table (there's lots of other great places to hide) and also so that my bunnies won't harass him on that side of the cage. Mostly now it's to keep my bunnies in an area where I can make sure they don't give him much grief, although I think it doesn't bother Ephraim at all.
